Ann's Favorite Fruit Crisp

Gently mix together 2-3 cups fresh berries or cut-up fruit and 2-3 Tbsp. cornstarch or flour.  Melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine in a saucepan.  Mix into it:  1 c. brown sugar, 1 c. flour, 1 c. quick-cooking oatmeal, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. baking soda.  Put half the pastry mixture into a buttered 9x9x2" pan.  Spread the fruit mixture over this, then cover with the rest of the pastry mixture.  Bake at 350deg. for 30-35 min. Serve warm or cold.  Chopped nuts, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and/or 1/2 tsp. nutmeg can be added to the fruit.  Vanilla, almond or other extract can be added for additional flavor.

Welcome to our website.  We are Ann and Joe Fischer.

We purchased our property in 2000, and some of the fruit was already growing on it.   We started selling our fruit that Summer at home and at Delaware Farmers' Markets.  At that time we grew mainly peaches, with a few apples.  We have since changed our emphasis, and now grow primarily apples.  We have expanded our line of fruits as your can see from our list of what we grow.  However, we remain a small farm with a focus on quality and variety.
